Girls' Camp Final Morning

This morning we enjoyed yummy cinnamon rolls as we recognized all the campers who passed off their certification while at camp this year. The YCLs also handed out recognition awards to all the girls in the year that they mentored.

We then went to work cleaning cleaning cleaning. We took off about noon.

We just want to send out a BIG thank you to the wonderful people who came to camp and helped us have a successful week.

Sister Tamra Kriser and Sister Cady Darley helped us present a wonderful program for our stake presidency and bishops.

Sister Nancy Williams and Sister Annette Jenne worked tirelessly to keep the craft room open for us. Thanks!

Brother and Sister Magonigal and Brother Hayes Godwin were around to help with whatever we needed.

And our wonderful chefs cooked delicious meals all week: Sister Becky Godwin, Sister Beverly Lewis, Sister Carrie Jenne, and Sister Rome Godwin. They worked hard and we all appreciate them.

Girls' Camp Slideshow

It took quite a bit of finagling to get this into a format that could be shared here, but I finally got it. :)

Girls' Camp Day 3

So today started with flag ceremony (and all our amazing cheers), certification, singing, crafting, swimming, and pranking...all of which led us Sister Williams' workshop/devotional.

Sister Williams shared a wonderful devotional with us this morning about overcoming adversity. We watched stories about amazing people who have overcome great odds and Sister Williams shared a very personal story about the loss of her daughter.

She shared with us about the giant fork in heaven and hell (remember the difference?); the people who fed each other thrived while those who tried to feed themselves starved. So, remember:

Keep Your Fork for the best is yet to come.

We spent the afternoon swimming, crafting, singing and preparing for our musical presentation this evening. Excitement rippled throughout camp as President Bess, President Carroll, our bishops and their wives began arriving for our final dinner at Camp Happily Ever After. Following a fabulous meal and a few antics by our bishops as they competed in our Minute to Win It games, we were graced by a musical presentation that the young women worked hard all week to prepare. It featured music from the 2011 We Believe cd by Jenny Phillips as well as quotes from General Authorities and leaders of the church. It was wonderful. The spirit of the Lord was invited by the musical talent of all our young women and the testimony meeting that followed was strong. Nothing warms my heart more than to hear a young woman boldly stand and bear her testimony of the truthfulness of the Gospel and of God's love for her...these amazing girls are preparing to battle life and I think they are doing a great job. I feel privileged to have been in attendance.

Girls' Camp Day 2

We woke up this morning EARLY to hike to the Garden of Eden, which, apparently,  looks like this:

Congratulations to all our girls who hiked this morning.

The day progressed with flag ceremony (and all our amazing cheers), certification, singing, crafting, swimming, and pranking, of course.

We ended our day with some incredible skits and a movie which reminded us not to settle for the story the world would have us write, but to write our own happily ever after.
